Not everyone of Islamic faith is expected to fast during Ramadan, with people such as those expecting a baby, the elderly, and the sick among those groups which are exempt from having to take part in the grueling practice due to their situation. One common practice for those not taking part due to the above mentions is to feed the poor instead.
